Helping Horses

Our vision is a world free of animal abuse and neglect.  Our main purpose is to rescue  horses from neglect, abuse, abandonment, and slaughter.   We aim to improve the lives of horses by providing a safe horse-haven for healing, rehabilitation, while working with equine lovers and trainers to educate, inspire, and improve the lives of youth and their families.  

Originally founded in the State of Tennessee by David and Christina Hayes in 2001.  As of 2019, Hayes Horse Haven has been located in the State of Virginia providing all of our rescues with larger and greener pastures.

Hayes Horse Haven has saved the lives of countless equines, we look forward to being the largest non profit equine rescue serving the State of Virginia, and bordering states. 

We are a nonprofit to support our community's animals, we formed our  organization to provide sensible solutions. We've grown considerably since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!

 Our Mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, abused, neglected, unwanted, and slaughter bound horses. We focus on a three part rehabilitation. 

First is rescue and rehabilitate the horses. By providing professional medical care, nutritional care, and emotional care to the horses.

Second is training the horses who have been cleared by accredited licensed veterinarians who believe the horses can and will benefit from professional equine training.

Third is providing our local community with economical riding and basic horsemanship classes.

Our secondary goal after rehabilitation and training is to offer our local youth and adults alike educational opportunities to learn and understand the needs of a horse.
